Yosemite {Central Valley Portrait and Nature Photographer}

It breaks my heart a little bit that it’s been nearly a decade since our last Yosemite trip. It is one of my favorite places and the spot where I first became interested in photography. My dad let me use his camera during a camping trip there and I think I took 13 or 14 rolls of film. It’s the place I credit for beginning my love of photography.

This trip, however, was my first time visiting during Autumn. It was gorgeous.

A little heartbreaking to see the effects of the drought. Dry waterfalls are a little surreal. Let’s hope, pray, and cross our fingers and toes for lots of rain and snow!

We did see quite a bit of wildlife, including several coyotes. My five-year-old was concerned that “that doggie must have lost his humans!” Eek! Don’t pet the “doggie” please!

We took a few minutes in a meadow by El Capitan for some pictures. 7132 7141 7150And we sat along the Merced River for a few minutes, just watching the leaves fall and make a splash in the water. So pretty!7158Yosemite in Autumn is beautiful, even during a drought.7191

We started heading home just before sunset, which gave us a beautiful “grand finale” view of half dome on our way out of the park. 7304 7317

And my kids LOVED the tunnel so much I just had to snap a picture.  : )
