The J Family {Lemoore Portrait & Homecoming Event Photography}

Last weekend I had the joy to photograph another Navy homecoming. I took this sweet family’s portraits just before their dad deployed and it seems like a long time ago! These boys have been missing their daddy for 227 days (!) and were very eager to see him.

Baby sister had a bad ear infection and had been sleeping, but we didn’t want her to miss her dad’s arrival, so she rushed out to the plane with her brothers, asleep in mommy’s arms. 34493459

Like I said, Baby S wasn’t feeling well and had been fussy since we arrived that morning. But she was all smiles once she was in daddy’s arms. So cute!3463 3490 3497

As they were exchanging hugs and kisses, the next squadron arrived. Perfect timing for photos!  : ) 3524 3527

And, as we were heading back inside the hanger, the third squadron arrived. Have I mentioned how much I love being out there for these homecoming days? Amazing!3668 3676Thank you J family for asking me to document this wonderful reunion and thank you for your sacrifices and service to our country.

Just in Time {Fresno Portrait & Event Photography}

Last week, I had the honor of photographing another Navy homecoming. This time the arrival was at Fresno Yosemite Int’l Airport. And these pilots had a lot of excitement to come home to – a very pregnant wife and her friend, who has a new baby meeting her Daddy for the first time. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?! I was honored to be there to capture K’s husband’s homecoming, just in time for the delivery of their first child in a few weeks.

He’s home!

One of the things I love about these events is the affection that I see after the husbands and wives are back in each other’s arms. It’s so sweet to see how they just literally can’t let go of each other after such a long distance apart.

Thank you to the L family for choosing me to photograph this day for you! And best of luck as you welcome your new son into the world very soon!

Another Navy Fly-In {Lemoore Portrait & Event Photography}

Hanford Photographer Kings County

On August 7th, I was honored to attend another Navy Fly-In. I know I’ve said it before, but what an amazing event to be a part of! I could do this every day and never get tired of being there and watching the emotion and excitement of these men & women being reunited after months apart.

After the initial flyover, the pilots circle around and come back over in groups of four before landing.

Once they all land, the open their planes at once. It’s like watching a scene out of a movie!

And then… they run to each other (and I try to keep up!).

They’re Home {Lemoore Portrait & Event Photography}

I was lucky enough to photograph another Navy homecoming in February. I cannot express how amazing it is to be out there and see these families be reunited. This day, four squadrons came home after seven months of deployment.

The first three arrivals gave me a chance to get emotionally prepared. I cry every time, and this day was no different. It’s very difficult to not get overcome with emotions seeing these reunions.

I loved all the personal touches the wives created to welcome back their pilots. The personalized beers were perfect.

Here they come!

The squadrons fly in as a group and go right over the hanger where their loved ones anxiously wait for them. Then they split into smaller groups and land.

The family I photographed consisted of three very excited little ones who obviously missed their Daddy. Their excitement was adorable as they spotted their dad and then saw him wave to them.

Once all twelve land, they exit together and walk in as a group carrying red roses for their ladies.

The families stand back as long as they can and then they run to each other. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to photographing pure joy.

Little L was so cute when she saw her Daddy. For the rest of the time I was there, she barely took her eyes off of him. She was positively star stuck. Adorable.

And one last shot from the day… I love that they have In-n-Out there for the pilots to enjoy! After seven months away, I’d say they earned it!  : )

Welcome home! THANK YOU so much for allowing me to capture the day for you.

Hat {Weekly Photo Challenge} & Air Show Photos

This week’s photo challenge word was “hat.” I took this photo at the Air Show in Lemoore, CA.

And, just for fun, here are some of the other images I took while at the show.

I have been honored to photograph a few Navy homecomings here in Lemoore, but no matter how often I am there, it’s still so amazing to see our military jets flying. The speed, skill, and wonder of it all is not lost on me. I still get chills of excitement hearing that roar and seeing the power of our military up close. It’s awesome to live so near a Navy base!

It was a long, hot, humid day, but seeing the Blue Angels made it very worthwhile! So amazing to watch their skill up close and hear the roar of those planes flying overhead!

Thank you to the organizers of the air show – it was a great day!

217 Days (Lemoore Portrait & Event Photography}

On Wednesday, I was honored to photograph a Navy Homecoming in Lemoore. This family has been separated for 217 days. Two-hundred-and-seventeen days. That is many, many, many days that Daddy has not seen his girls, kissed their faces, or tucked them into bed at night.

The days consisted of two homecomings – here’s a shot of the first squadron to come in. They flew in formation right over the hanger we were in, giving me goosebumps and chills and tears, all in an instant.

A group shot of some of the wives waiting for their pilots to return home safely.

And the face of a one-year-old who hasn’t been with her daddy in 217 days….

… and a 5-year-old very anxiously awaiting the next group of planes to arrive.

Here they come!

I was told that the pilot we were waiting for was in the plane on the bottom right-side.

Once they all landed, they walked in together, carrying red roses. I dare you to stand there watching this scene without feeling pride for our red, white, and blue.  ; )

Once they got close, the families and pilots all take off running towards each other…

Happy little girl!

To say I am honored and thankful is an immense understatement. Thank you Tritz family for your service, your sacrifice, and for allowing me to share this day with you.

The Schawl Wedding {Half Moon Bay Wedding Photography}

When Rhonda contacted me about a December wedding at the beach, I have to admit I was a little nervous. Those nerves were for waste – this could not have been a more beautiful wedding weekend. The weather, the location, the ceremony, the reception – all perfect!

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Oceano Hotel & Spa in Half Moon Bay. It was beautiful beyond words.

Immediately after the ceremony, we rushed to the beach to get some portraits before the sun went down. These two were up for anything and their love just radiates. After editing the massive amount of photos I took, I’m a little convinced these two don’t take a bad photo! :)

Isn’t a private walk on the beach an amazing way to start off a marriage?

Back at the hotel, we dusted the sand off our toes and took more formal photos with the bride’s children and the rest of the family.

And a few more of the bride & groom…

Once inside the reception, Rhonda & Bud danced the night away with their guests.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple! Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph this remarkable day ~ I am truly honored to have been there.

The Attebery Wedding {Hanford Wedding Photographer}

It’s been a while since I photographed a wedding! I had almost forgotten how much fun it is to have a backstage pass to document the journey a couple makes into married life. I took a break during my pregnancy and after my son was born, but this December I resumed wedding photography with two amazing Winter Weddings. The first was this amazing day with The Attebery’s.

The Groom sent his bride a beautiful long-stemmed rose to his soon-to-be wife along with a card that simply said “I Love You” and their wedding date. It definitely brought some smiles to the ladies at the salon as they prepared for the big day.

Casey is a truly beautiful bride…

The ceremony was held at the 100-year-old Episcopal Church in Hanford. It is truly one of those churches that is so beautiful it takes your breath away.

Husband and wife, just after their wedding ceremony.

It rained in the morning, but cleared up just in time for the ceremony, allowing us to capture some beautiful portraits outside of the church.

The bride and groom and their children in front of the church…

Casey & Chad – thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer! I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Congratulations!

P.S. It’s hard to pick only a few favorites from nearly 600 finished images!!

Please contact me if you are interested in learning more about my wedding photography services.

A Military Homecoming : : Lemoore Portrait & Event Photography

I had the amazing opportunity and honor to photograph a homecoming at Lemoore Naval Air Station this week. The Thomas family has been apart since last July and it was so amazing to be a witness to their reunion.

The children waiting for the planes to arrive…

Someone brought a bubble machine, which was a great entertainment and distraction for children who were wildly eager to see their mothers or fathers who have been gone so long.

This is Ariel – isn’t she adorable? She’s almost two-years-old and was anxious to see da-da (love the shirt!).

Waiting for those airplanes…….

Here they come!

This was seriously an amazing experience and I would love the opportunity to photograph more homecomings. Thank you to the Thomas family for inviting me to capture this amazing day for you. Welcome home, Jeff – and thank you!

Please contact me if you are interested in booking an event or portrait photography session.

90

When this family contacted me about photographing a 90th birthday party, I was thrilled. What an incredible birthday. And when I met the birthday girl, I just couldn’t believe my eyes! Doesn’t she look amazing?

We took a lot of group photos – but my favorites have to be the photos she took with her great grandchildren. I love that her joy and pride show so very clearly in these photos.

We also took time to grab some individual shots of the little ones at the party. This one, in particular, really warmed my heart. He was quite shy and didn’t really want to be in front of my camera. So I put on my sneaky mode and I’m so glad I did – I love this image!

Another photo on the wish list? The entire group of friends and family who had come together to celebrate this momentous 90th birthday! I was a little nervous with this many people looking at me, but I love that the birthday girl is surrounded all of her loved ones.

After the big group photos, I also offered to take portraits of the individual families as well.

It was a lovely day and I appreciated being a part of it.

Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a portrait session or would like to have an event photographer at your next gathering.
