City girl going for farm, barnwood, egg. Not sure how successful it was, but “egg” was a tough challenge word for me. Next week is “petal” and I think I’ll do okay. : )

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I love our annual Spring visit to the cabin and my chance to get up close and personal with the wildflowers on the family’s property. These lupine are my favorite. I love the color, the shape, and the variations.
This first shot is actually two blooms intertwined.
I loved all the different shades of blues and purples.

My littles were way more interested in playing that posing, but I did manage to get one cute shot of my favorite people in my favorite wildflowers.

Over the weekend, we visited Sequoia National Park again and were treated to a lovely day in the sunshine. On the way home, I shot this photo of the blanket of fog still covering the Valley. It stinks to be stuck in the fog, but it sure is pretty (from a distance…).

On the last day of our recent vacation on the coast, we stopped in at the Pismo Beach Monarch Grove. It’s free and pretty remarkable to see 14,000 butterflies* in the trees.
*I am taking their word on the # of butterflies, I did not count them myself…
